The Avra Beach studios is situated on the south east coast of Crete in the pretty and picturesque bay of ‘Kaki Skala’. The plant covers 30 housing units in several one storey buildings. From the road above you wouldn't know it was there because it is tucked away in lush gardens of palms and hibiscus, set slightly back from the sweeping bay, ensuring a natural privacy. A further advantage of the accommodation is the Avra Beach tavern that’s conveniently positioned at the front of the studios overlooking the beach. Lunch and dinner is available to both residents and non-residents and it has an excellent reputation for its Cretan cuisine. The buffet breakfast included in the price of the holiday is also served in the tavern.

The rooms are simple and maintained, suitable for 2 persons. They all have a fridge, a shower room and a balcony or terrace (with garden view).The studios are spacious, giving the option to sleep couples or a family (up to four). They each have a kitchenette, a shower room and a balcony or veranda, some with sea views, looking on to the pretty garden. Even with Avras position, right next to the sea, a small swimming pool has also been included amongst the gardens.

The shingle/pebble beach sits right in front of the studios and rooms with translucent water and, with only a handful of accommodation in this bay, the beach never gets crowded, even in August! Other local taverns can be reached on foot from Avra as can mini-markets, where you can purchase supplies for those rare occasions when you might want to eat in! Through a step road one reaches the bus stop with regular connections to Ierapetra and Sitia, 10km away. Enjoy the pleasures on your doorstep discovering traditional timeless villages that are scattered throughout this picturesque region.
